Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM
So, my favorite lens, the nifty 50mm f/1.8 died on me yesterday. Can’t blame it. That was my third of the lens. The first one, I don’t know how or why it broke. I was utterly devastated when I brought out my camera bag to find that it was already split in two. The second, a blockmate of mine left it on a drafting table and it slid off. This one, I guess is my own fault. My bag was on top of a bleacher and it fell off.
The 1.8 has served me well over the years. Yes, I’ve been using my Canon 400D for about 4 years and I’ve had a 50 since then also. It’s the first lens I ever bought. Because I’ve had 3 of the same lens, its accumulated worth is almost enough to buy me the higher (and hopefully sturdier) model- the 50mm f/1.4 USM.
This time, I’ll be investing in that. And soon a new camera bag too.
A friend of mine said that this is probably my karma. Ito siguro yung kapalit ng pag-protekta sa akin sa Sagada. Ito siguro yun. Anyway, I’m glad I’m still alive.
So, there. If time permits, I’m going lens shopping tomorrow (Thursday). :)
